Anser Farooq is a Senior Trial Lawyer at Anser Law Professional Corporation. The courtroom is where he excels and feels at home. Trials are his passion and clients are never disappointed with his preparation, determination and desire to succeed. Mr. Farooq graduated with a B.A. (Hons) Degree majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Psychology from York University. He was in the Masters’ program at York University with a focus on Medical and Psychiatric Anthropology prior to commencing law school. He obtained his Law degree from the University of Alberta before being called to the bar in Ontario in 2002. After working at a downtown Toronto law firm, Mr. Farooq established Anser Law Professional Corporation. He has successfully litigated many high-profile cases of local, national and international interest while appearing in the Superior Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Several of Mr. Farooq’s cases have been featured in various legal databases and media outlets such as the Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, the New York Times and the Law Times. Mr. Farooq is fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi. When he is not fiercely advocating for his clients, he likes to engage in various sports and outdoor activities. SHIVANI BALCHARAN
Managing Lawyer
Shivani was called to the bar in Ontario in 2016. Shivani is well versed in the Family Law Rules and Rules of Civil Procedure and does not hesitate to address client’s needs aggressively in or outside of the court.
Shivani completed law school at the prestigious Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and Tobago in 2009 at the age of 21 and was called to the bar the same year in Georgetown, Guyana. Prior to attending the Hugh Wooding Law School, she graduated from the University of Guyana in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B).
After being called to the bar in Guyana, she held public service positions in Guyana first as a State Counsel at the Director of Public Prosecutions and then as a Legal Officer and State Prosecutor at the Guyana Energy Agency.

NICOLE OHN-HEERALAL

Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) degree from the University of London. She then attended law school at the Hugh Wooding Law in Trinidad and Tobago, and was called to the bar of Trinidad and Tobago in 2013. She has worked in both the private and government sectors and has over 9 years international experience as a lawyer. Faiz Ahmed Khan (B.A. LL.B) (Hons) graduated from the Aligarh Muslim University. After working at a prominent Downtown Toronto law firm for 2 years, he joined Anser Law Professional Corporation as an Articling Student.
