Anser Farooq from Law Professional Corporation acted for father in baby stabbing case and he has been granted custody.
A baby is in hospital in critical condition and a man is recovering from stab wounds after an incident at an Etobicoke condominium Wednesday morning.
A woman was arrested near the scene and taken to hospital, Toronto police said.
Const. David Hopkinson said the man and a 4-month-old girl were initially believed to have been stabbed in the lobby of the building at Sherway Gardens Rd. and Evans Ave, south of The Queensway, around 8:35 a.m.
However, on Wednesday afternoon police posted on Twitter that the baby’s injuries were “not attributed to stab wounds.”
Police said the female suspect fled the scene, but was later found and taken into custody.
Peel paramedics said the woman was taken to a Mississauga hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The male victim was also taken to hospital with injuries described as serious but not life-threatening.
The baby remains in critical condition at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
