A London, Ont. man and former “Canadian Idol” contestant arrested in connection to an alleged homegrown terror plot was granted bail today at a hearing in Ottawa.
Dr. Khurram Syed Sher was granted bail Wednesday afternoon on bonds totalling $178,000.
Under his bail conditions he cannot use a computer or cell phone and must stay in Ontario. He must also report to the RCMP once a week.
Sher is among three Ontario men facing terror-related charges. One had already been granted bail.
The evidence put forward for Sher’s bail hearing is subject to a publication ban.
Sher had been in custody since his arrest in late August.
Sher recently moved to London from Montreal after taking a job as a pathologist at an area hospital.
