TORONTO - Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a deadly weekend fight in Oakville.
The victim, now identified by Halton Regional Police as Christopher Stairs, was found lying lifeless in the intersection of Kerr and John Sts. just after 11 p.m. Saturday.
Following a post-mortem examination, investigators now say the 31-year-old Oakville man was stabbed to death.
Two men, both 18 and from Oakville, have since been taken into custody, police said.
Nazir Akbari is charged with second-degree murder.
Angar Langer is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
"As part of the investigation, two additional male youths were arrested in relation to this incident and were subsequently released unconditionally," police said.
It has been a violent start to the new year in Halton Region, which now has had three slayings barely three weeks into 2011.
Rick McLeod, 49, was murdered in Acton on Jan. 6. His friend, Eddie McGuin, 47, is charged with second-degree murder.
Devon Isnor, 23, was killed at a house party in Milton on Jan. 8. His brother, Jordan Isnor, 25, is charged with second-degree murder.
